Airport passenger traffic up 8.5%
Hong Kong International Airport saw an 8.5% rise in passenger throughput in October from a year earlier, to 3.9 million, the Airport Authority says.
Number plate auction set for December 2
The third batch of personalised vehicle registration marks will be auctioned on December 2 at the Convention ` Exhibition Centre.
Transport comments up 12.1%
The Transport Advisory Committee received 5,481 complaints and suggestions in the third quarter, up 12.1% on the second. The comments were related to public transport services (76%), enforcement matters (14%) and traffic conditions (6%).
Action called against illicit passenger hire
The Transport Advisory Committee has called for enforcement action against goods vans carrying passengers. Committee Chairman Teresa Cheng said goods vans cannot carry passengers, which is the job of taxis.
Probe launched into wall collapse
An investigation has been launched into the collapse of an external wall at a demolition site in Aberdeen. Assistant Director of Buildings Choy Kin-kuen said the contractor has been instructed to suspend work until safety measures are put in place.
